Universal Orlando Resort's Hotels Add Flavor to Mardi Gras Celebrations with Themed Food and Drinks

Universal Orlando Resort is bringing the party to its hotels with themed food and beverage options during the Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval event. Guests staying at any of the resort's hotels can enjoy unique dishes and cocktails inspired by global Carnaval celebrations.


The event is ongoing through April 16, so there is still plenty of time to indulge in these tasty treats. Here's a look at what guests can enjoy at each hotel:


Loews Portofino Bay Hotel


At Trattoria del Porto, guests can enjoy Cajun Jambalaya Pasta featuring shrimp, smoked sausage, chicken, onions, peppers, and mushrooms in a creole sauce with fettuccine pasta. For dessert, the Masquerade Cannoli offers a mixed berry insalada.

Over at The Thirsty Fish, indulge in a Boulevardier made with bourbon, Italian liqueur, and fortified wine. At Splendido Bar & Grill, try the refreshing Mojito Lemonade, which features vodka, black raspberry liqueur, simple syrup, raspberry, and mint.


Hard Rock Hotel


The Kitchen is serving up Bourbon Street Beignets with bourbon caramel sauce and powdered sugar, while Velvet Bar has N'awlins Po' Boy Sliders with smoked andouille sausage, sautéed peppers and onions, Cajun remoulade, and toasted French bread. At beachclub, sip on the Hurricane, a classic rum cocktail with grenadine, pineapple, and orange juice.


Loews Royal Pacific Resort


Islands Dining Room is offering King Cake Pancakes with a lemon and powdered sugar glaze and spiced walnuts. Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar is serving the unique Orchid cocktail, which includes gin, elderflower liqueur, crème de violet, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a pea flower float. At Tuk Tuk Market, enjoy a Chocolate Bomb with your choice of chocolate and caramel with spiced pecan, s'mores, or cookies and cream and Mardi Gras purple, green, and gold décor.


Loews Sapphire Falls Resort


At Amatista Cookhouse, try the Shrimp & Andouille Sausage Gumbo Pot Pie with vegetables and okra. Strong Water Tavern is serving the Cucumber Hurricane Twist, made with light rum, lime juice, Midori, and sliced cucumber. For a traditional treat, visit New Dutch Trading Co. for a slice of King Cake.


Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort


Galaxy Bowl has a Shrimp Po' Boy with Zapps Chips, featuring crispy Cajun fried shrimp on a French baguette topped with creole-inspired creamy remoulade sauce. At Laissez les bons temps Rouler, enjoy the Hurricane cocktail with light rum, rum, passionfruit liqueur, orange juice, lemon juice, and grenadine. Served in a light-up souvenir Galaxy Bowl tumbler with a straw, refills will be $22 with the cup on Mardi Gras cocktail only.


Universal's Aventura Hotel


Bar 17 Bistro is serving Crawfish Etouffee with crawfish, onions, celery, bell peppers, and rice. At Urban Pantry, try the Muffuletta Sandwich with Genoa salami, mortadella, ham, provolone and Swiss cheese, and olive salad. At Bar 17 Bistro & barVentura, enjoy the Hurricane cocktail made with dark rum, passion fruit, and tropical juices or the Sazerac with rye whiskey, absinthe, simple syrup, and bitters.


Universal's Endless Summer Resort: Surfside Inn and Suites & Dockside Inn and Suites


Beach Break Café has New Orleans BBQ Shrimp & Dirty Rice, featuring sautéed shrimp, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun spiced rice, and andouille Sausage. Pier 8 Market is serving New Orleans Cajun Roasted Chicken & Dirty Rice with Andouille Sausage and Sweet Candied Bacon. The Sunset Lounge is serving the The Endless Carnaval whish is a drink compiled of Silver Rum, Spiced Rum, Passionfruit Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice, Dried Blackberries, Pineapple Wedge, Green Sugar Rim.
