Universal's VelociCoaster Now Accepting Express Passes

Universal's latest attraction, the Jurassic World VelociCoaster, has been a huge hit since its opening in June 2021. This high-speed coaster takes guests through the park's raptor paddock, twisting and soaring above land and water. Now, the ride is accepting Express Passes, an add-on ticket that allows visitors to skip the standby line once per day, per participating attraction.

Express Passes are available for one-time access to each attraction offering Express, starting at $89.99 per person, per day. Unlimited Express Passes are also available, starting at $99.99 per person, per day. While they are only offered for one-park access, two-park passes are available at a higher price. Note that these passes do not include theme park admission.

The VelociCoaster was constructed on the lagoon side of the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, occupying the space formerly used for the Triceratops Encounter. It was designed by Intamin, who also worked with Universal on other attractions like Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts and Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

This coaster has a minimum height requirement of 51", and guests must secure all belongings in lockers. There are large lockers available for rental inside the Discovery Center, as well as small, double-sided complimentary lockers in the queue.

The queue takes visitors through an InGen facility and features video cameos from Owen Grady, Claire Dearing, and Dr. Wu. For those who want to know more about the coaster's Easter Eggs, there are InGen building tours, where Team Members point out details in the queue. Additionally, Velociraptor fans can visit the Discovery Center to see if any eggs are ready to hatch at the Nursery and learn some dinosaur fun facts from the Geneticists. Guests can also meet and take photographs with Bravo or Blue at the Raptor Encounter.

The coaster itself has four inversions, including its infamous "Mosasaurus roll," a 155-foot tophat, and goes up to 70 miles per hour. The launch goes from 0 to 50 mph in two seconds, and the tallest drop is 140 feet. The queue also uses Child Swap with an indoor waiting room where guests can watch "Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous," a kids' animated show, while they wait for the other party.

In conclusion, Universal's latest addition to the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure has been a thrilling success since its opening. And now, with the addition of Express Passes, it's easier than ever for visitors to experience the coaster without the wait.
