Universal’s Wizarding World Discovered in Hogwarts Legacy Video Game

The video game industry has been on a steady rise, with more and more players delving into new and imaginative worlds with every new release. The latest addition to the list is Hogwarts Legacy, a game that takes players back to the world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The game has been garnering attention for its breathtaking graphics, intricate storyline, and, most recently, for an Easter egg referencing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

TikTok user @joanslytherin shared a video that compared footage from the game to the Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. In the video, players can see a number of elements from the ride, such as the queue and coaster's archways and towers, which are also present in the game. The video also highlights bas-reliefs that are present in both the game and the theme park.

These architectural elements originally made their debut in the Dueling Dragons roller coaster in 1999, before being re-themed to “Harry Potter” in 2010 and becoming Dragon Challenge. Although the coaster was closed in 2017, some of its structures remained for the development of Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. This new coaster opened in 2019 and has had its share of operational issues and temporary closures, which were caused by fires, bee infestations, and other factors.

It's no secret that the game industry has been influenced by the theme park world, and this Easter egg is a testament to that. While it remains to be seen whether this reference will lead to more Easter eggs in future games, one thing is certain – the attention to detail and love for the source material is evident in every aspect of the game.
